Old Delhi was founded by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 1639. It was originally known as Shajahanabad and was filled with beautiful mansions, mosques and gardens. Even now, you can see some important places like Jama masjid, Red Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid, Chandni Chowk markets, Digambar Jain temple, Begam Smaru’s palace and many other interesting spots in Old Delhi.

New Delhi is the capital city of India. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan established it, but a British architect, Edwin Lutyens, did most of the city planning. Now, New Delhi is a metropolitan city offering a wide variety of interesting places. The remarkable attractions in New Delhi include the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, the India gate, the Humayun tomb, Qutub Minar, Laxmi narayan temple and the Bahai temple.
